Shannyn’s Angel Love Notes

ATM card..where are you!

Pic courtesy of www.flickr.com/photos/24oranges/

An example of how asking your angels (or guides, spiritual helpers) can work.

I stopped by the bank yesterday to deposit a check. I walked up to the ATM and was searching around in my purse for my card. I had just used it at the gas station and remembered that I had dropped it the the side pocket. But it was not there. Grrrr…..

I rustled around for awhile with no luck and was getting a bit frustrated. I was hungry and wanted to get somewhere to get a snack, not deal with my ATM card going MIA.

So I decided to take my purse back to my car and pull out the contents. As I walked back I asked my angels ” Can you please find my card? I really don’t need this right now!”

I got in the car and pulled everything out onto the passenger seat and carefully went through everything. I was getting down to the bottom of the pile and no card. Ugh.

Then I noticed a flash of red and my card was sitting on the edge of the seat. I had just looked at the whole seat a second before. It hadn’t been there before.

Where the darn thing went in the first place I don’t know, but at least it was returned!

I said “thank you guys”!

And went on my way.

Asking for help…..Angel Style

Pic courtesy of www.flickr.com/photos/alicepopkorn/

One of the most important things to remember about working with angels in your life is to ask. Ask them for help, ask them for what you need, ask them to be with you.

Now when I first starting doing this years ago I felt really stupid. I was thinking….they’re not there. I’m freaking talking to myself. I didn’t feel anything, hear anything and my requests didn’t have a lot of energy or trust behind them.

And they were usually about money. Angels can you help me pay these bills? Please? Or can you fix my relationship?

Occasionally I would ask for protection if I was walking in the dark. I would call on Archangel Gabriel for that particular problem.

Over time and with consistent practice I started to actually feel a presence come into the room after I asked a question. I stopped feeling quite so silly. Those bills that I had asked for help with, would get paid somehow. I would get a feeling inside to do a certain action or call someone. Or someone would call me out of the blue that lead me to money coming in.

And they helped me fix my relationship by getting me out of it! ha ha!

Sometimes I hear a very distinct voice that comes with a feeling of comfort. “It’ll be ok” or some other reassurance. It immediately takes away the worry. It’s usually very quiet and soft, so make sure you get quiet listen after you ask your questions.

Now I speak to them all the time. And I don’t just ask questions, I say thanks! It’s always good to say thank you and send feelings of appreciation and love for their assistance. I also ask them to help others and not just myself. Prayers for other are sometimes more powerful that for ourselves. So ask for healing, love and peace for everyone you know all the time! It does so much good!

Sometimes the answers to my questions or requests come right away, sometimes it unfolds over a few days circumstances, but there’s always an answer. Journaling helps to show you how things unfold. We tend to miss the miracles in our lives because we’re too busy worrying and bitching!

When you are asking your angels for help you are actually asking the divine for help. Angels are the extension, the messengers, the light beings that make things happen. They are just passing the message and energy along…in both directions. It doesn’t matter what your concept of the divine is….God, Jesus, the universe, love, the infinite, oneness, or you just believe all is within you.  They still flow the energy and work with you.

So start asking! Practice, practice, practice!

And don’t forget to say a big thank you!

Love Shannyn

Angels Around Me

Pic courtesy of www.flickr.com/photos/alicepopkorn/

I wanted to write a little bit about how I experience angels. I’ll be writing more about this, because my life is so much more rich and beautiful working and experiencing them and I gotta share the love!

The first time I saw an angel, I was sitting in a class at energy work school back in about 2005. There were four of us in class plus the teacher and I was listening to a lecture. I don’t remember what….something energetic.

All of a sudden a flash of white light appeared near the ceiling and just as quickly disappeared. It looked like something out of Star Trek when some alien energy is breaking through the hull. (Nerd Alert!) With streams of light coming from it like a comet.

This wasn’t in my mind’s eye, but actually with my physical eyes. I thought…did I see that? And yes I did, because my fellow student next to me, saw me looking and said, “That was an angel. It came with a message for her”, pointing to another student.

It was such a seemingly random time to see something like that and it’s not often that I see something quite so dramatic. It was really very cool. Of course random is never really random!

In the past couple of years with my various spiritual practices, I opened up to feeling the absolute overwhelming love that channels through and from these beings. It’s really an overwhelming feeling.

It’s usually strongest when working on a client and there’s a need for that person to receive a lot of love that day. It floods into the room and I can feel the presence of the divine around me. I have a challenge not tearing up and dripping tears all over my client! It’s a love that is that powerful.

In other sessions it feels like a vast and powerful knowing and understanding of everything and a strong supportive hand to lift them up. As expansive and wide as the universe.

Angels hold many different vibrations and energies, some feel like absolute love, some like absolute strength, other like pure joy. We can tap into these energies whenever we need them just by asking and knowing that they are there. And they are everywhere!

We sometimes limit our concept of angels by thinking they are like people, in shape and size and form, just with wings. While some of them come to us that way, as that is how our minds can understand them at this point, others are not. They come infinite form, function and energy. They are extensions of the divine. And the divine is infinite.

In our day to day lives to start acknowledging that there are angels everywhere can open us up to that connection to absolute joy, love, strength, protection and much more. If you observe a flower and see it’s angel, it connects you to the divinity in that flower. If you look at the sunset and see the angels in the sunset you will see divinity there. It’s everywhere.

Give it a try and see what you see.

The Path to Prosperity

Sam the Prosperity Cat

About a year and four months ago I was in a really challenging financial and life position. I had gotten myself in to quite a pickle and couldn’t see my way back at the time. Everything seemed so difficult and insurmountable. I seemed to find a block at every turn. If I needed to work online, my computer would act up, if I needed to drive somewhere to go on a job interview I would have car issues. Looking back it’s kind of comical, back then, not so much.

I was still trying to figure out how it all happened since I had always been able to do quite nicely financially, until 2009 when I, like many people lost my “day job”. I had worked my entire life since the age of 15 and had always had more than enough. This was flabbergasting!

But there I was, self-esteem in tatters, living with friends and trying to pull myself up from the hole I was in.

So in late 2010, I sent a call out to the universe (God, Angels, anyone divine I could think of) for help. And the universe answered. Through serendipitous events, I was connected to Marilyn Jenett who spoke to me about her Feel Free to Prosper program. I checked out all the testimonials and took a chance on it. I started doing the {very easy and brief) work of the program.

I was shocked to see results within a day of starting. After a few days, I had gone from $40 in the bank to $400 and had gotten a new part-time job. Within a month I felt the feelings of poverty consciousness and fear lifting. My confidence started to return and week by week my life kept improving.

I want to emphasize that this program didn’t just help me with my finances. It started me on a path of trust and faith. It helped me to regain my self-confidence and have a much more positive outlook on life. My feelings about my life changed from negative to positive. This program has a profound effect on all aspects of your life, relationships, health, as well as prosperity!!!! I was truly blessed to receive the gift of Marilyn’s program. I continued with her Manifester’s Audio Program which continued to change my consciousness to one of prosperity.

I was not new to the idea of universal laws of and working with the universe to help your prosperity, but had obviously not had much success. There is something about Marilyn’s energy and simple techniques that get past all the junk in your mind and unlocks your prosperous nature. I was pleasantly surprised how effective is was and still continues to be. I still refer back to the work to refresh my consciousness and get things moving!

Now, a year and a little bit later I am back on my feet, in my place again, with a car and computer that run well and finances that continue to increase monthly. My confidence and outlook are higher and brighter than they have been in my entire life. I have embraced my divine prosperity and feel supported by the universe in my life and work.

So, if you are in a financially challenging position or you need to get off the hamster wheel of debt. And you would like learn to live in harmony with the universal laws and see some prosperity come your way, then check out her program! It changed my life and it will change yours.

Check out her site and her amazing programs and her free E-Book “An Introduction to Universal Laws and Prosperity Principles”

Everything changes. What are your infinite possibilities?!

One of the differences between how I see the world, and how many people see the world…… is that I don’t see it as static or permanent.

If someone says…”I have arthritis and that’s that…..it’s just going to get worse. I’m getting older and more decrepit. I have it in my fingers and it’s probably going to spread to my other joints……” *look of defeat on their face*.

That’s a belief.

Belief….. how we see things and what we think about IS how things are.

I believe that we have the opportunity to change these things that seem so permanent. Believing that things like arthritis, stomach issues, weight problems, emotional issues, etc. are permanent and possibly progressive conditions, will keep them strong and give them life.

Opening up to the possibility that they are fluid and changeable will open you up to healing and positive changes in your life that will truly surprise you.

In the world of consciousness and energy, which is the realm that I work in, nothing stays the same. We are a collection of vibrating energy particles that are being re-formed in to a pattern every second, actually faster than that. We have a “matrix” that we are formed on that keeps us in the same relative shape when we wake up every day. But we have the opportunity and ability to work with that matrix and wake up differently!

How?

Well…it takes a little effort. Actually a lot of effort….. LOL! A lot of awareness, refining your thoughts, and changing your belief system from “I’m stuck with this crappy body and crappy life” to “it’s all possible!”

I use daily practices like meditation, Dzogchen and Ho’oponopono to keep open to the possibilities and increase my awareness. As I work with these practices, they keep me open to a flow of info and energy that keeps me healing and growing.

I’m constantly releasing old patterns and creating new ones that are healthier and more sustaining. These practices also keep me from reverting back to old and destructive thought patterns. Because they are sneaky and persistent! Lemme tell ya!

It takes consistent effort and an intention to expand , grow and raise your awareness to see change. But you will be amazed at the things that can change in your life that you think are stuck or just your lot in life. I am grateful every day for the connection, healing and love that continues to show up.

So what possibilities for growth and positive change are you missing because you’re allowing yourself to believe that it isn’t possible, that things will never or can’t change. Truth is they can. It ain’t always easy! But they can.

What are your ultimate possibilities?

Drop the “I can’t” and set them free!

Intuition and Guidance – What Is It and How do I Use it! – Part 1

Intuition and guidance

What is it? How do I use it!

I am starting a series of posts dedicated to using your intuition and inner guidance to improve and better your life.

This is post #1!

As an intuitive healer and guide I have been exploring and deepening my use of my intuitive abilities through the years. Growing up I was always “sensitive” and could sense energies, but I did not know how to deal with them or what the sensations and feelings meant. I got easily overwhelmed. When I started to really study energy and intuition in school, it was still mysterious and muddled. I constantly doubted what I was getting. Other people seemed so confident, but I always questioned. Which is how I imagine a lot of people are out there. Using your intuition can be confusing at times. Sometimes you seem so right on! Things are flowing and feeling good. You just know the right answer. Other times you think you’re following your intuition but it seems to lead you astray.

Intuition is a messaging and information system that we use as humans to communicate to each other. It can also be used to communicate with the animal, plant and even the spiritual realms and for them to communicate with us. It’s just part of us, it’s how we’re built. We are energy and information, as is everything around us. A lot more information than you may realize! We are all walking billboards for our inner lives. I think if we realize how much people can sense from our energy fields we might give up trying to hide ourselves so much! There’s really no point.

Intuition uses senses that have been somewhat closed down in this society. In other cultures, intuition or inner knowing is just part of everyday life and culture. It’s not seen as strange or crazy as it is sometimes portrayed here. Which can be a reason why we doubt ourselves so much. It’s not considered completely “normal” to base decisions on those subtler feelings we can’t always explain. I often will like or dislike someone’s energy for no logical reason. They can be perfectly nice or outwardly pleasant. But they may just feel “bad” in some way. I can’t always explain it, but I just know it doesn’t feel good! And I’m sure if we did some real digging you could find the source of the unpleasant feelings. Lots of anger, resentment, negative or dark thoughts. I just try to remember there’s a divine being underneath the “stuff”.

As an energy healer who sends healing energy over long distances by phone or even just by email, I believe that we are all connected by a vast network of energy and information. We shouldn’t find this far fetched in a world where pictures, data and information are sent via the airwaves, invisibly, by transmitters and receivers. Our own mind, body and aura are very powerful transmitters and receivers that cover vast distances. Even some say……time.

We can tune into another person’s or location’s frequency using our astral and other senses. All of our subtle bodies have all five senses. You already do this inadvertently from time to time. You may think of someone and they call. Or you get the urge to call someone and it’s just when they needed you. I have a very strong messaging system with certain friends and family. Their names pop in to my head out of the blue, or I just pick up the phone to call and it turns out that one of us really needed something from the other. It’s astral mail!

This skill of using intuition and our guidance system can be used for many purposes. Making life decisions, deciding whether or not to pursue a relationship or leave one. It can tell you whether a job is going to work for you or not. It can alert you if someone needs your help or if they need to hear from you… what foods and activities will serve you or hurt you. Sometimes it can even save your life. Or it can even save you from an embarrassing situation! It’s very practical!

So how do you develop intuition and inner guidance so that it is serving you and not harming you? Well one way is to practice and test!

Like any system, the lines can get crossed sometimes and the system needs both use and maintenance to operate well. This takes using it……practice. The upkeep and maintenance part of it is practicing meditation. Meditation is the best and most effective maintenance for your intuitive abilities. Other moving meditations like yoga, tai chi also help. Prayer, contemplation or even long walks will also keep things running more smoothly.

Testing your guidance system is also a great thing to do in the beginning. When people first get started they are getting a lot of information that they may not be able to determine is real or not, which can be frustrating. At first your imagination will run wild. That’s normal. Over time you’ll start to feel when you get real info. You’ll know it when it happens.

When I was in energy work school one of the students got really freaked out and had a mini melt down because she started basing every little decision during her day on what her guides were telling her. Should I eat this? Yes no? Should I talk to this person? Yes or no? She was making herself crazy in the process. Most likely that was own ego messing with her. Don’t do that! Live your life. Go with the flow. As your intuition gets stronger you will just know the answer to the little things. Just take it easy and start exploring.

We all have our own way of receiving the information. Some get feelings, chills, heat. Some get actual words. Visions, dreams, and just “knowing” are other ways as well. Sometimes I just get an overwhelming urge to just DO something. Right now! That’s another way that it can show up. The classic ”don’t go down that dark alley!” is always a good one to just follow. : ) Sometimes you may just stop walking and change direction if there is danger ahead.

So if you have a question or decision to make, do a test. If you’re new to this, please start with non life-changing decisions! Start small and work into bigger things. You can ask yourself “should I do this thing?” and wait for an answer from within. What comes to you first? And remember you are exploring and learning. Have fun and don’t take every answer you get as the be-all end-all. It’s not meant to be like that! It’s guidance, you still have to decide for yourself.

You can also answer the question with “Yes I will” and see what feeling or sensations or messages you get. What sensations are you getting in your body? Did you hear or see anything? When I say see…… I mean in your mind’s eye.

Then answer the question…..”No I won’t. And wait to see what that feels like or what messages you get. You can also look at the non-intuitive logical reasons why or why you shouldn’t do this thing. If you’re spiritual you can ask your question of God and see what you get. You can run it by friends or advisors as well.

Then Act!

After you’ve made your decision, does it feel good? Do you feel at peace? Or do you feel like you made the wrong one. How does it all feel to you?

Then wait to see your outcome.

It’s good to write these things down. What was your question? How did it feel? When you said yes…no…asked God… what came to you. Hindsight is a great teacher in these matters. You can then see what the “best” answer for you was and how it felt in comparison to the feelings, messages, and sensations you received when you asked your question.

If you do this over and over you will start to develop a better sense of how you, in particular, receive information and how a “yes” feels and how a “no” feels. The answers will come to you more and more quickly.

One caveat, sometimes you may not get an answer. It may be that there is no “right” answer to the question. Either path will work, it’s just a matter of choosing. Sometimes our egos are preventing us from truly seeing what the highest and best path is. It is also more difficult to read yourself than to read someone else. Our egos and attachments get in the way… a LOT! But with time and practice you can get much better at knowing the “right” direction to go. You may still not take it. But you will know it.

One good rule of thumb when making a decision based on intuition….. always check in with your gut. Your body is your best source for your answers. There’s a reason why they call it a gut feeling. Check your belly! : )

What would your life be like if all you could see in your life were the good things?

What if all we could see in life were the good things that are happening. There was a magic lens filter that weeded out all the negative experiences and you just didn’t notice them.

Someone cut you off, and all you saw was a blur go by. Someone yelled at you and you weren’t paying attention so you didn’t hear them. Someone was rude to you, but you heard it “wrong” and you thought it was a joke.

This thought just popped in my head…..we spend so much time focusing on the negative things in life……the harm or inconvenience someone’s caused us or how we can’t believe that someone did this or that that made our life more difficult…etc.

I thought it would be interesting if we only noticed the good stuff and were oblivious to the bad. It seems that every book on success, every wealth guru, and every spiritual text says at some point that your thoughts create your reality.

So what would our lives be like if we only noticed the good. So we only “saw” good things and therefore thought only good things happened to us.

What would our reality be like?

Clearing fears and negative emotions

I use a few different techniques to clear away fears and negative emotions that clog up our systems. Meditation is one of the best ways to do this. I will sit down in a comfortable spot where I won’t be disturbed and take a few deep breaths.

Then I will focus on where the fear is in my body. Then I will just watch it. You may notice it change, or grow, move to a different part of your body or intensify. It may get a little uncomfortable, but just keep watching.

If you see it as something a little separate from you it can help that feeling. Just keep watching. You can ask the feeling what it’s there for, what it’s related to, etc. Then just wait for answers. Sit there as long you can and watch it.

You may have an emotional release, or maybe just take a deep breath to release some or all of the fear or emotions. This works great for anxiety. You may feel like getting up before it releases but see if you can stick it out.

After the release you will feel tons better! Keep doing this until the fear is completely gone. It may take a bit of work over some time, but if you keep at it, you can get great results.

Here’s a great fear processing exercise from Inelia Benz…

Intuitive Readings…..how do they work?

Well, I can tell you how mine work. I think every person who “reads” energy or does some sort of spiritual counseling or guidance is a little different. There’s a lot of variation in people’s intention, level of access to information and where they get their info.

The spiritual world is full of all sorts of information. I also see the entire physical world as spiritual so I’m not just talking about things we can’t see. We don’t always sense this information consciously, however. But we’re basically spiritual beings running around in very dense suits with big mufflers on our ears! So most people aren’t hearing or sensing as much info as they have the potential to be.

We all have a natural ability to get information about people, places, things, and events, but many of us have turned ourselves off to much of it. There are people who work at having all their senses turned on and receiving. Many of them work as readers, spiritual counselors or advisors but some are just really sensitive people who have “normal” jobs. But they can “read” people really well and just know things without you telling them.

The information that sensitive or open people read can come from many sources. It can come from the person’s energy field, from their Higher self, from other people’s energy fields, places, land, animals, trees,….yes trees talk. : ) As well as higher beings such as Angels, Devas, and other beings of light. Everything, and I mean everything carries information. Bodies hold pain, past trauma, happy memories, …your entire life is recorded in your cells. Energies are recorded in places as well. Houses, land and other places hold the memories of past events in their energetic signature.

As an intuitive spiritual guide my job is to relay this deeper level of information to my client that helps them in the highest way possible, only for their highest good and to do no harm. I always ask the Divine for help in this. So with that intention set I let the Divine guide me in the flow of information that helps this person on their way through their spiritual journey.

So, if they have a question about a relationship, I will get information about how they are feeling in that relationship as well as how their partner is feeling. I will get info about what is currently working and what is not working, and what they can do to make things better. Sometimes all it takes is a new perspective.

My readings carry healing energy along with the information, so as my client is hearing the information they will receive healing energy that helps them get unstuck, or let go, or just feel better! My clients usually feel that they knew the information on some level, but they hadn’t known it consciously, or they had thought it before and are now getting a confirmation.

In the end it’s all about helping each person walk through their lives with more happiness, clarity, direction, and less pain! And each experience helps me along my journey as well. We’re all trying to get to the same place!

So hopefully that shines a little light on the process. There’s much more to it, and I discover more and more each day. I’ll be talking about this more often and giving you tips and advise on connecting with the spiritual world that is all around you! Check back soon!

Have a magical light filled journey!

Relating to the world as sacred

I’ve been reading a book called “Healing with Form, Energy and Light” The Five Elements in Tibetan Shamanism, Tantra and Dzogchen by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. I bought this book a couple of months ago as it seemed to jump out at me from the website of the publisher, Snow Lion publishing. I bought it very excited to learn more about Tibetan healing and Dzogchen. I spent an amazing 5 days with Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche (a Tibetan Bon monk) a few months ago learning the practice of Dzogchen and at the end receiving the transmission. I’ll write another post on Dzogchen. But in a nutshell it is the true nature of our mind. Very powerful stuff! Life changing.

I started to try and read the book and as often happens with spiritual books that you’re not quite ready for…..it got overwhelmed and I put it down. It seemed to have too much info, kind of like the psychology texts from my UCI upper division psych classes. Ugh. So fast forward to this week and it started looking appealing again. Somehow it made it’s way onto my bed. I looked over and it looked a little brighter than usual. Hmmm….maybe time to pick it up? Yep! This time I was able to almost fly through the pages and absorb the information very quickly. There was so much good stuff in there I want to share it all, but for now I’ll pick one thing.

The author talks about relating to the elements (the elements make up everything) and our world, body and minds as sacred. As you relate to them as sacred they become sacred. It opens up a different kind of access to both the world around us and our inner world. As we see the sacred and divine in everything…every object, every person, every moment, your perspective on life changes. Doors of meaning and understanding open where there were only questions before. Problems become smaller and part of the big picture or the big ones are transitions to better realities. Even someone being rude or mean has a meaning.

The jerk who cut you off becomes a divine being who isn’t in touch with his Buddha nature, so you let it go. Flowers and trees come alive with energy and meaning. Animals and children become more of a joyful experience. This is what I have experienced as I open up to the world being sacred in it’s totality. Of course there are some moments when I am experiencing anger, or a really bad smell that I can’t quite get there…..but a good portion of my day I frame things in the sacred….in the big picture. This doesn’t mean you have to be religious to do this. Just see everything with a sense of awe, kind of like a child does. It makes the world much more fascinating and wondrous. As you open up to it…you experience more.

As Einstein said….“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.”

That is what I am talking about!
