And here’s why I’m doin’ it!

A few years back I was at the precipice of a huge change in my life and I had no idea what it was. I was trying to figure out who I was, what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be with. I had just gotten back from a 3 month trip across the country in my SUV that was intended to “find myself”……which I did not by the way…. and was attempting to start my life anew. I tried becoming a chocolatier for about a year and decided that although I like chocolate, I did not like being covered in it. It wasn’t my true passion.

So again I was adrift. I promptly got into a really bad relationship to keep things interesting. I didn’t know it was bad at first, or at least I didn’t consciously. I think we can see a lot of things that we ignore for various reasons. As it went on the relationship got worse and worse, but I was so “head over heels” that I hung in there for dear life. It started to remind me of the descriptions of verbally abusive relationships. I even remember researching abusive relationships to see if it fit the bill. It pretty much did. Very subtly, but it did. The benefit of that “oh so fun” relationship was that it got me to a place that was so painful that it steered me right into my current path. I was in so much pain and so confused that I decided to see an intuitive healer. I’d always been interested in this sort of thing and finally went to check it out.

After a few sessions with this healer, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to start learning how to heal with energy. I was also “after a few more sessions….”  able to come to a place of strength to leave that relationship and start the healing process. It took some time to recover from being in a relationship that was so destructive, but it showed me some deep patterns that were there, that needed to be dealt with.

To start learning how to heal I found a school for energy healing and got a certificate in Energywork Therapy as well as learning every energy & spiritual healing technique I could get my hands on outside of the school. Reiki, Chi healing, cord cutting, Angel healing, you name it I learned it! As I learned I ended up receiving healing myself, which was awesome!

As I started to heal I also opened up to my spiritual path. I discovered over time pieces and parts of the puzzle of why I’m here. I don’t have all of it yet, but that’s part of the journey here. Today I am a completely different person from that lost, anxious, and searching woman a few years ago. It seems like a lifetime ago!

Over the last 8 years since that fateful trip. *wink*, I have continued my study of energy healing and spiritual growth. I have studied with masters of healing, amazing spiritual teachers and I’ve meditated, meditated, meditated! I have learned that life and spiritual healing is a process, an unfolding and a journey. It can be joyful, painful, beautiful and rewarding. I see things now that I was unaware of back then. It’s been a magical ride.
